Ready for summer

Every day I'm thinking about change. Success isn't about the end result, it's about what you learn along the way. I don't really know how to do casual clothes. Brides today are increasingly sensitive to the tastes, feelings and finances of their attendants. I wish I had invented blue jeans. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes.

We must never confuse elegance with snobbery. You're only as good as your last collection, which is an enormous pressure. Online media is increasingly influential in fashion. I think I'd go mad if I didn't have a place to escape to. You have to stay true to your heritage; that's what your brand is about.

People said making clothes inside out was not proper. I disagreed, because clothes that are inside out are as beautiful as a cathedral. The key to my collections is sensuality. Fashion is made to become unfashionable. For me, the summer will be pure gray - mother-of-pearl gray, very pale gray. To me, this is the big statement for summer. Then we have light blue, light turquoise, lots of pink. I never look at other people's work. My mind has to be completely focused on my own illusions.

Age is something only in your head or a stereotype. Age means nothing when you are passionate about something. I've always thought of the T-shirt as the Alpha and Omega of the fashion alphabet. I am what I am. Before I was not so proud to make fashion. My family thought fashion wasn't very interesting. So I hid that. Women are more sure of themselves today. They don't have to emulate the way men dress. I have an obsession with details and pattern.

You cannot be creative with people around you. It is not easy to dress well. My dresses are very reasonably priced, for dresses that are cut on the body. A woman has the age she deserves. I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.
